Boardroom Impact: Governing Gender Equality in Global Value Chains

In this masterclass, the Agency for Business and Development (AWE), together with UN Women, will demonstrate why gender-responsive supply chains are becoming a strategic priority for everyone in business - from board members, executives to professionals across functions.

Against the backdrop of tightening ESG regulation, expanding due diligence requirements and rising expectations from investors, employees and the broader public, companies are confronted with a key question: How can gender equality be integrated into oversight and decision-making in a way that strengthens long-term value creation and resilience, mitigates risk and enables effective stakeholder engagement, particularly through multistakeholder collaboration and stronger engagement with private sector partners?

Using the Global Supply Chain Coalition (GSCC) as a practical example, the masterclass will explore how companies can anchor gender equality along global supply chains within governance structures, monitoring frameworks, strategic management processes and supplier engagement, moving from commitment to measurable impact, while highlighting the role of private sector leadership and cross-sector partnerships in driving systemic change.
